Ones of a Kind George Chisholm, Stephane Grappelli

Humphrey Lyttelton "Best of Jazz 8th December 1997

One new show discovered, reports death of George Chisholm 6/12/97

and Stephane Grappelli 1/12/97
music includes tributes to both.

1. Alex Welsh Band with Humph, Bruce Turner, and George Chisholm
2. Swedish Jazz band (unrecognisable name)
3. NDR Big Band, Sister Sadie
4. Betty O'Hara, It's Wonderful
5. Frank Morgan, Frankly speaking
6. Hot Club of France, Running Wild
7. Roy Eldridge, The String
8. Kid Ory, Careless Love
9. Johnny Guarnieri, Stealing Apples

I was in two minds about uploading this session, the quality of the DAT recovery is poor
but apart from the tributes, there are some other rare recordings from Humph's archive.

Recorded from FM radio in the U.K. onto D.A.T, For those that don't know how DAT sounds when it goes bad check +8 to +9 mins in

Notes:
Coming to the end of the year 2004 collection, there are a few (only) from 2003 and
even less from earlier years, as mentioned before, if anyone has copies of Best of Jazz
that are missing here, I'd be very happy to receive them for posting, I can handle most
formats. Cassette tape, DAT tapes, Reel to Reel (3.75,7.5,15 IPS), CD/CD-R, DVD,
Files in .WAV. AAC. FLAC, MP3, OGG, M4A formats.

The comments box is always open, though I think you need to register with Google to place a public comment.
